- Latex bulb/Y-injector: A soft, self-sealing bulb or a Y-shaped port that allows for the injection of additional medications without disconnecting the set from the patient.
- Tubing: A transparent, flexible, and kink-resistant PVC tube that connects the different components.
- Filter: A built-in filter, sometimes in the drip chamber or a separate inline filter, that removes bacteria and prevents air from entering the bloodstream, which can cause air embolism.
