- Glucose (Glycosuria): The Presence of sugar is a sign of uncontrolled diabetes.

- Nitrites/Leukocyte esterase: Products of white blood cells and bacteria, indicating a likely UTI.
- Blood: Can indicate kidney damage, infection, stones, or other serious conditions.
- Microscopic Examination:
A sample of the spun-down urine sediment is examined under a microscope to look for:- Red blood cells (RBCs): Increased numbers (hematuria) can indicate various conditions, including kidney stones or kidney disease.
- White blood cells (WBCs): High numbers (pyuria) typically point to an infection or inflammation.
- Bacteria, yeast, or parasites: Confirms an infection.
